“Checkmate!” your competitors out of your future customer’s
wallet.
Checkmate is a program that systematically creates barriers to entry
for competition. Through our program (supported by Credit Strategies
Seminars) UCMS has encouraged over 800 schools to reduce, revamp or
in some cases abandon credit card tabling. Tabling was the first
battle line…
T-Rex Baby Steps. This program is only getting started.
Similarly as to how Coke and Pepsi took the battle from the vending
points of sale to everywhere on campus, credit card marketing
competition will be multi-layered and campus-wide. By Spring
semester 2005, the process for college credit card promotion will be
wholly different… some would tease revolutionized. Why?!…
Somebody loses. Somebody wins. College credit card marketing
is an absolute zero sum game. When a credit card gets sold it either
replaces an existing account or it precedes an account not yet
opened. Either way, one bank’s loss is another bank’s win.
Checking the King. UCMS clients strategy includes locking
out. Similar to how colleges used to foster competition between
three top cola brands (and now most universities are exclusive to
ONE), credit card marketing will similarly shift. Email our
president, Dennis to peek into the new rules for 2005’s credit card
marketing game. (dmeunier@ucms.com) |
